Part-time researcher and co-author in health service research (HSR) and health economics or health econometrics
Do you have an NIH grant or other project that requires an input from a qualified health econometrician? I can contribute on a part-time basis with data and statistical analysis, manuscript or grant preparation. For further details please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I have graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of Iowa (USA) with specialization in health econometrics. For three years I provided research assistance to the AHEAD study group at the U of Iowa Department of Public Health. In particular, I have co-authored 9 published papers in various biomedical and health journals.
I have more than 4 years of working experience with the data in Health and Retirement Study (HRS/AHEAD). I have constructed complex data sets from multiple sources and performed statistical analyses. In particular, I worked with logistic and probit regressions, panel data and Bayesian (MCMC) methods.
My current research interests include the problem of sample selection in health surveys, functional decline in older adults, emergency department utilization by older Americans, health expenditures and life expectancy.
I have also attended RAND Summer Institute in Santa Monica (CA) from July 11th-14th, 2011 that included (i) Mini-Medical School for Social Scientists and (ii) Demography, Economics and Epidemiology of Aging.
